Katy Perry was born with the name Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson on October 25, 1984in California, USA. Katy decided to use his mother's maiden name because of fearmistaken with the actress Kate Hudson.

Since childhood, Katy was used to 'consume' music-gospel music. He oftenparticipated in activities in the church choir. Before deciding to move to Los Angeles, Katy has had time to actually release an album entitled Katy Hudson by label Red HillRecords.

At age 18, Katy decided to move to Los Angeles and had joined the team The Matrix.With Glen Ballard, he had recorded three songs that bear the title The Next Big Thinggiven Blender magazine in October 2004. One of the songs recorded with Ballardeventually released as the soundtrack to the film The Sisterhood OF THETRAVELING PANTS.

After quite a while 'falling-up', luck finally arrived. In early 2007, Jason Flom, CEO ofVirgin Records, offered a recording contract under Capitol Records. From this was born the contract recording the album ONE OF THE BOYS, which was launched mid-July 2008.
