American superstar Michael Jackson was born in Gary, Indiana, August 29, 1958, and entertained the audience most of his life. His father, Joe Jackson, was a guitarist, but was forced to give up his musical ambitions following his marriage to Katherine (Scruse). Together they prodded their growing family's musical interests at home. A musical prodigy, Michael's singing and dancing talents were amazingly mature, and soon became the dominant voice and heart of The Jackson 5. An opening act for groups of soul, as the O-Jays and James Brown, Gladys Knight was (not Diana Ross) who officially brought the group to the attention of Berry Gordy, and in 1969, the boys were producing back -to-back chart-busting hits as Motown artists ("I Want You Back", "ABC," "Never Can Say Goodbye," "Got to Be There", etc.). As a product of 1970, the boys emerged as one of the most successful black pop / soul vocal groups in music history, successfully evolving from a group like The Temptations to a disco phenomenon.
Michael's solo success was inevitable, and since 1980, had become infinitely more popular than his brotherly group. Record sales consistently orbit, culminating in the biggest selling album of all time, "Thriller" in 1982. A TV natural, he ventured out a little 'uneasy in the film, how to play the Scarecrow in The Wiz (1978), but had a much better luck with elaborate music videos.
In 1990, the downside of the 1980's as a pop phenomenon began to rear itself.Michael grew terribly child and introverted by his celebrity without equal. A rather timorous, androgynous figure to begin with, his physical appearance began to change drastically, and his behavior grew alarmingly bizarre, making him a consistent target for scandal-making, despite his numerous acts of charity. Two brief marriages - one to Elvis Presley's daughter Lisa Marie Presley - were forged and produced two children by his second wife at the time, but the purpose behind them appeared the image-oriented. Despite everything, the passion of Michael Jackson and art as singer dancer, writer and businessman are unparalleled, and it is these prodigious talents that eventually prevails over the negative aspects of his adult life very seriously disturbed.
To this end June 25, 2009, with his sudden death at 50 years of a drug-induced cardiac arrest, just as he was emerging from a period of four years alone and the evidence for a sold-out London 'comeback gig "in July, seems unusually cruel and tragic. Millions and millions of fans remember where they were "the day Michael died."
